Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it in public, on the post and on this page.
Corrections and updates
A correction fixes something we got wrong: a number, a quote, a source, or a claim that said more than our data did.
An update adds something new without saying the old version was wrong, like a new result or a rerun. Research reports list updates in their changelog, with a new version number.
We fix typos and broken links without a note, as long as the meaning stays the same.
How a correction looks
We add a dated note to the post that says what was wrong and what we changed. The note quotes the original wording, or describes it if quoting it would repeat the mistake's harm. If the error changed a main finding, the note goes at the top of the post. Otherwise it goes at the bottom.
Every correction is also listed in the log below, so you don't have to stumble on it.
How to report one
Email [email protected]. Tell us which post, which sentence, and what you think is wrong. A link to a source helps a lot.

YYYY-MM-DD. Post title (link to the post). What we said, what's right, and what we changed.
